Junior Dos Santos says he is sending Cain Velasquez to the back of the line

Remember that game we all played way back in elementary school, called Candyland? The object of the game was to move your little gingerbread man all along a candy filled path and the first player to make it to King Kandy was declared the winner or champion of all Candyland. Sounds easy enough but of course as with life, there are pitfalls and setbacks along the way that prevent you from getting your chance at the heavyweight king of Candyland title. The game’s deck of cards is stocked with a few cards that will either leave you stuck in Molasses Swap for awhile as your opponents skip along the rainbow colored path ahead of you toward glory or your opponent can knock you way back down the path all the way to the back of the line. Sounds awfully similar to the road to the heavyweight title shot if you ask Junior Dos Santos. He talked to the LA Times this week leading up to his rematch with Cain Velasquez tonight at UFC 155 and promised he was sending Cain all the way to the back of the line.

“Cain is good standing too, but I can see holes during a fight better than he can, and I will be waiting for that opportunity,” Dos Santos said. “It doesn’t matter how prepared he is. I’m going to hit his face with good punches and I will knock him out.”

“I’m confident. I actually think it’s a mistake for Cain Velasquez to be getting this fight again so soon, because after he loses this one, he’s going back to the end of the line to get at this again.”

Right now Junior Dos Santos is like King Kandy of the UFC and he’s going to do whatever he can to fend off anyone in line trying to kick him off his throne. Cain Velasquez tried once and climbed back up the ladder for another shot that goes down tonight on PPV at UFC 155. [Source]
