Junior dos Santos once again came to Cain Velasquez’s defense.

Velasquez is currently the subject of an ongoing attempted murder case after he ended up shooting a man on the arm while in pursuit of another man who allegedly molested his child.

The former UFC heavyweight champion has since been arrested and been denied bail. He is facing 10 charges including first-degree attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Velasquez will await his trial date on April 12 while being in a jail cell.

Ever since the initial news broke out, just about everyone in the combat sports community has come out and shown their support for Velasquez to be freed.

One of them was former rival Dos Santos who penned a heartfelt message to Velasquez.

Junior Dos Santos: We All Know He’s A Good Person

With Dos Santos recently signing with Eagle FC, he was asked about Velasquez and his message to him.

The Brazilian — who shared the Octagon with Velasquez three times in heavyweight title fights — responded:

“Everything what I know about Cain Velasquez is that he’s a great guy, a great person,” Dos Santos said. “A very serious athlete. Takes care of himself, of his family. With everything we went through together, it was kind of a demand for me to do that because man, for me, everything what the justice is doing with him — I know he did something stupid and he shouldn’t have done it that way. But I think the justice needs to be very careful. His [child] was being abused and man, it bothers me a lot to talk about that because every time I’m thinking about that, I think Cain Velasquez is in the jail right now and the guy who is molesting his child is out there.

“It just makes me crazy. I cannot accept that, I think nobody can. We all know he’s a good person, father, he just wants to take care of his family. I hope the justice can see that and take care of him the best they can.”

Hopefully, justice does prevail in this case.
