  • “Lioness” pointed out why she’s not letting the bantamweight champ retain what she believes is rightfully hers

Billed as the biggest rematch in UFC history, UFC 277: Julianna Pena vs. Amanda Nunes 2 is just hours away from happening. As expected, the two female warriors heated things up as they spoke to the media ahead of the fight.

“Whatever it takes”

Pena sure cemented her name on the list of all-time greats when she viciously choked Nunes out at UFC 269. Now that she’s finally at the top of the food chain, “The Venezuelan Vixen” is going to give it all she got once they meet inside the octagon again. And the reigning UFC women’s bantamweight champion has made it very clear during the pre-fight press conference.

“I’m going to say yet again, I’m not surprised mother (f**ker),” Pena said. “I’m going to punch, kick, pull her hair. I’m going to bite her, I’m going to gouge her eyeballs out if I have to. I’m literally going to do everything in there. Trust me when I say I’m ready and willing to die. Whatever it takes, I’m going to do whatever it takes.”

Lioness is up for it

Of course, Nunes hit back, reiterating that losing her belt to Pena still haunts her and she’ll get it back by hook or by crook.

“I will be there ready to be even better than her,” Nunes stressed. “She’s really going to face a lion she didn’t see last time. So, I’m ready. There’s only one lion in the jungle and that’s me… Honestly, how I lost I couldn’t take it,” she said. “So, I went back home and I have to do this again. I make all the adjustments and the changes that I was supposed to do and I jumped camp.”

“I wanted the belt back, this is what I love to do, this is the feeling that I like, and I cannot retire like that,” she added. “That was my main reason. I got to fight, you know. I got to fight, I got to be there and then, I got to be there 100 percent and do my best.”

The rematch between the pair is thrilling indeed. Both fighters are in their prime and are coming in ready for a blood bath. Let’s see who’s getting her hand raised at UFC 277.
