Only one woman deserves the title
Both Pena and Harrison are coming off big wins but only one will be hailed champion after UFC 316. The former PFL champion and the reigning UFC women’s bantamweight queen have been publicly dissing each other and now, they could finally settle their conflict inside the Octagon.
Pena had just reclaimed her title after outpointing Raquel Pennington at UFC 307. In the same card, Harrison dominated Ketlen Vieira to earn a unanimous decision win. The victory turned out to be her ticket to a long-awaited title shot in the UFC.
Prior to being booked against Harrison, “The Venezuelan Vixen” was still eyeing a trilogy fight with Amanda Nunes, who has been officially retired. With Pena facing Harrison next, it is interesting to see how the women’s bantamweight landscape will play out and if Nunes will prompted to make a return.
