Josh Hokit is not letting Paulo Costa bark from a safe distance without firing back. After UFC 327 turned Hokit into one of the card’s breakout names, the heavyweight prospect ended up in a social media back-and-forth with Costa over the bonus money that slipped through the Brazilian’s hands. It is the latest weird chapter from a Miami card that already spun out in a dozen directions, including Paulo Costa pushing himself closer to the light heavyweight title picture and Paddy Pimblett saying Josh Hokit earned his respect after the war with Curtis Blaydes.

Hokit became one of the biggest stories on the card after his fight with Curtis Blaydes turned into a heavyweight banger and helped land him bonus money along with a spot on the upcoming UFC White House card. That apparently did not sit well with Costa, who felt like his own finish should have come with a bonus check. Instead of leaving it there, Costa jumped online and aimed straight at Hokit.

Josh Hokit fires back after Paulo Costa threatens him

Costa wrote:

“Hey Josh Hokit you got my bonus motherf—–, I’m gonna f— you up next time you f—— bum.”

Hokit answered with:

“Fight deez nutz… but of course, I got like 20% body fat but don’t get it twisted my Incredible Hok juice is far more superior than your secret juice.”

Costa kept going and added:

“Fat ass you owe me $100k bonus.”

Hokit came right back again, writing:

“I’d take you down and suffocate you with this belly and take all your women from you, they prefer a dad bod anyway.”

Costa then floated a fight idea of his own, posting, “Costa x Hok for real BMF. No weight limit. No boring hugs. Winner takes all.”

Hokit’s final answer was short and on brand. He wrote, “I’ll eat your heart.”

That exchange is ridiculous, but it also tracks with where both guys sit right now. Hokit’s stock jumped hard after UFC 327, especially with how many people came away talking about his fight instead of the usual heavyweight slog. Costa, meanwhile, got a strong win of his own and kept the momentum rolling in a new division, but the bonus chatter clearly hit a nerve. Between Hokit’s surge, Costa’s title talk, and the chaos still spilling out of Miami, this is exactly the kind of stupid fight-week energy the sport never really knows how to quit.
