Josh Barnett vs. Mighty Mo slated for Dream 13

Josh Barnett has been floating around the MMA world occasionally touching down to put a gentle spanking on opponents in grappling tournaments. If catch wrestling ever needed an ambassador, Barnett would proudly wear whatever hat is required. Alright, how can we ignore the 900lb pink elephant in the living room…Mighty Mo is not Fedor. This time last year after Barnett’s domination of Gilbert Yvel at Affliction: Day of Reckoning, a bout between Fedor vs. Barnett was rumored to go down at Affliction’s third show. The fight was officially announced, the poster was designed and the entire planet was ready to carpool down to Anaheim, California to see the #1 ranked heavyweight in the world take on #2 (at the time) in a bout of proportions so immense that it gave people headaches just looking at the card. The universe was aligned to make the top of everyone’s head to explode like some Hawaiian volcano and it all came crashing down when Barnett tested positive for good old steroids. We all know how the rest of the story goes. Affliction scrambled to find a replacement for Fedor, countless press conferences were held and suddenly the entire company collapsed literally within a few hours.

Since then, Josh Barnett has been busy reading comic books and hyping up Atreyu on Twitter. When I lived in the UK, I knew a dude that had ‘Atreyu’ tattooed on his right forearm. He’s gay now, which is not to say all Atreyu fans are gay. Just stating the fact that there is one Atreyu fan, and he’s gay. However unlike Josh Barnett, he has not been assigned to fight Mighty Mo in Dream 13.

If you’re not familiar with Mighty Mo, dude is 3-1 with his sole loss coming from Semmy Schilt via triangle at Dynamite!! 2008. He trains out of Millennia MMA in Rancho Cucamonga (same camp as Javier Vasquez) and competed against a guy named ‘Kro-Cop’ in a no-gi grappling tournament last September. Dream 13 is will happen one day after UFC on Versus in the land of the rising run…and the non-existent drug test. [Source]
