Jose Aldo On Great Fighter Conor Mcgregor’s Retirement: “He Had A Brilliant Career”

Jose Aldo Reacts To Conor Mcgregor’s Retirement

Former two division champion Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo have a history which dates back to 2015 when Irishman starched ‘Scarface’ in the first round at UFC 194. Despite that rivalry, Aldo wishing Mcgregor the best after he hung his gloves for good from sports of MMA last week.

Earlier this month Irishman arrested on two felony charges after stomping on fan’s cell phone and then walked away with it. He bailed out after paying out $12,500.

Shortly after announcing his retirement from MMA, late on the same day news emerged that Irishman is under investigation for Sexual assault allegation in Ireland. Back in 2016, Mcgregor announced his retirement and then four months later he got into Octagon.

In a recent interview, Also said some good words about Conor’s career: (h/t Portal do Vale Tudo)

“What he did for the sport and what he won. If I fight Floyd Mayweather and make 80 million dollars, the UFC would never see me again too. Do you really think I would train multiple martial arts three times a day? He had a brilliant career, he was a great fighter and if he really is retiring, I congratulate him for all he did in the sport.”

We agree with Aldo here as Mcgregor made tons of money after his fight with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather back in 2017. Not only that last year Irishman launched his Proper No. Twelve Whiskey which is breaking all the sales record. Considering all the facts in mind, sure Conor doesn’t need to come back to the Octagon again.

Aldo is currently slated to take on Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 237 this May. ‘Scarface’ was hoping to get a rematch with Mcgregor but it seems it’s never going to happen.
