Jorge Masvidal isn’t opposed to the idea of having a wrestling match with Ben Askren.

Masvidal and Askren have had quite the history. There was some bad blood going into their July 2019 encounter. That fight ended in just five seconds as Masvidal knocked Askren out with a flying knee. Since that bout, Masvidal and Askren have both exchanged pleasantries and barbs.

Jorge Masvidal vs. Ben Askren … In Wrestling?

Jorge Masvidal was recently on the IMPAULSIVE show and he said that a wrestling match with Ben Askren isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

“I would actually love to wrestle Ben in a competition. Straight wrestling, I would do it. Gonna go sharpen my tools and that would be a good meeting… I would definitely f***ing do it.”

Askren has long been known for his wrestling. He was an NCAA Division I standout and “Funky’s” wrestling ultimately earned him Bellator and ONE Championship titles.

Masvidal was recently called out for his alleged attack on Colby Covington outside a restaurant in Miami. “Gamebred” was called a “hypocrite” as he hounded Covington for comments made about his family. Some feel Masvidal went too far with his own comments on Askren.

Masvidal clarified on social media that he never went after Askren’s bloodline.

“Not his bloodline. I said I want to take him out of the reproduction system. So, he can’t reproduce no more. We don’t need no more Ben Askren in this world. Not his bloodline, whatever he’s done already, I don’t mess with nobody’s kids. I wouldn’t dare.”

“Funky” responded and was quite confused.

“Is this an apology or what is this? I’m very confused. Don’t need an apology, you said what you said. I’m tough enough to be ok with it, I have thick skin.”
