Donald Trump is a well-known name in the MMA world, but backing him hasn’t been easy for Jorge Masvidal.

Even with Trump winning the 2024 election and leading his second term as president, his decisions and policies are a hot topic. Some, like Mark Zuckerberg, have openly opposed his ideas, and plenty of others share similar views.

For Masvidal, standing by Trump came at a cost. His public support led to demonetization on several platforms, cutting off a significant portion of his income.

“[I got] a ton of hate [for supporting Trump] and still do to this day,” Masvidal said. “Initially I was making very good money on YouTube and Facebook.”

“I was monetized, I was f***ing killing the game. I’m talking about good f***ing money. Like, I didn’t have to fight money. Very good money.”

“I did a video with [Donald Trump Jr.]. We got like 44 million views. I’m talking about two or three days later, simultaneously, Facebook and YouTube unmonetized me.”

“[There was] no reason why. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, you put this video that was flagged.’ There was no reason why. We were like, ‘What the f***.'”

Masvidal worked hard to get his monetization back, but both platforms took it away again, leaving him in the same spot as before.

“I was on my way to making money [again]. Trump goes down to Florida in 2023 and he asks me to come to Hialeah, to the rally.”

“So, I gave out a couple words, I did a little speech. Immediately, that was on say like Thursday, on Friday morning again I was unmonetized on Facebook and YouTube.”

“I don’t even give a f***, bro. Because what’s this money if I don’t have this country?”

Jorge Masvidal recently fought Nate Diaz in a boxing match on July 6. The judges decided that Diaz won the fight, but it was a tough battle for both fighters.
