Jorge Masvidal is back in the middle of UFC White House talk, and this time he went straight at Chael Sonnen with both barrels.
The whole thing started after Sonnen questioned whether Masvidal was ever really in talks for a UFC return tied to the White House card. Masvidal answered by insisting there was genuine interest early on, even if nothing was ever official. That lines up with the comeback trail he has already been pushing, including when he hinted at a possible Conor McGregor fight for the White House event and when he said he was contacting Donald Trump to try to secure a spot.
In the clip reposted by Championship Rounds, Masvidal opened with a full scorched-earth rant and left nothing on the table.
“For starters, this motherf—ker has some nerve. He’s transitioning into a woman and he’s talking s—t to me? You lesbian ass motherf—ker, and no disrespect to the lesbians, this motherf—ker needs to chill.”
“Because now that he’s a lesbian, he thinks I can’t slap him? I’ll still slap the f—k out of you, Chael, you lesbian in transition. Look at them f—king tits and glasses he’s wearing, he looks like one of my f—king aunts.”
“I can’t take this guy seriously. The only serious thing this guy did was fighting Anderson Silva, lost, got triangle tapped, and he was on seven different PEDs. Dude, you can never talk to me. I’ve never had a positive exam for steroids in my life, shut the f—k up, Chael, you’re talking to a real fighter.”

Masvidal says Sonnen twisted what he actually claimed
“I never said I’m ‘officially’ fighting at the White House, you f—king lying piece of s—t. There was a lot of interest in that fight, at first, and there was a big chance I’d be on that card.”
“They asked me for a few things, and then the date changed … not contradicting anything, it’s called ‘Rolling with the punches’. Now, the UFC has offered me something else … every time he mentions my name, his 17 fans tune in.”
Masvidal’s point is straightforward. He is saying there were real talks and a real opening, not a signed fight agreement.
Masvidal’s UFC run started in April 2013 with a win over Tim Means. He later won the symbolic UFC BMF belt and set the promotion’s fastest knockout record with the five-second flying knee against Ben Askren. His last UFC fight came against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 on April 8, 2023 in Miami, where he lost a unanimous decision and announced his retirement afterward. Sonnen, meanwhile, fought for UFC titles in two divisions and has stayed in the White House card chatter, including when he said the UFC would give Conor McGregor “a real guy” if that fight happened on the card.
Masvidal has also said the UFC blocked a Netflix MVP fight option and pointed him toward a bigger return instead. He is also still tied to off-cage issues, including the civil lawsuit over the alleged 2022 Miami restaurant attack on Colby Covington, which keeps following him while he talks comeback. On top of that, Masvidal still runs his own Gamebred promotion, so this White House fight push is happening while he is juggling both legal baggage and promoter duties.
