Jorge Masvidal is interested in boxing Ben Askren, Nate Diaz, or Jake Paul.

On April 8, Masvidal lost his fourth consecutive UFC fight with a unanimous decision defeat against Gilbert Burns. Once the decision was announced, ‘Gamebred’ took off his gloves and retired from the fight game.

Similar to most fighting superstars, there is interest in seeing Masvidal fight again. The former BMF champion has been asked numerous times about when he plans to return, and he’s recently revealed potential circumstances.

During an interview with TMZ Sports, Masvidal had this to say about what could get him to return:

“I always loved boxing. I always wanted to do some boxing matches. Yeah, I could do it back for a boxing match. I heard Ben Askren say he would come out of retirement to fight me… He wanted MMA, but, for his sake, I’d do boxing so I can’t knee him in the face, it’s illegal. Hey Ben, I’ll beat you a** with both hands behind my back.”

Masvidal continued:

“I’ll only give you the rematch in boxing, motherf*cker. People will tune in because I can’t knee him in the face. Maybe Ben can get his way now. Hey Ben, kiss my a**, you coming out of retirement, I’ll send you right back motherf*cker.”

For those unaware, Masvidal made history in July 2019 when he secured a 5-second knockout, the fastest in UFC history, by landing a flying knee against Ben Askren. Since then, Askren has claimed numerous times that he wants the rematch in MMA to get revenge.

Jorge Masvidal reveals possible interest in boxing Jake Paul or Nate Diaz

Ben Askren isn’t the only fighter that Jorge Masvidal is potentially interested in boxing. On August 5, Nate Diaz will fight YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a boxing match. During the same interview with TMZ Sports, Masvidal has this to say about the possibility of him fighting the winner of Paul vs. Diaz:

“I don’t plan on fighting anybody anytime soon, but maybe in like a boxing match, I’d come out and just smack Nate [Diaz] up later on in life or something if he can get by Jake [Paul] or something. Smack him up real quick, maybe me and Jake, I don’t know man. As of right now, I’m just doing promoting.”

Paul started his professional boxing journey with six consecutive wins, including four by knockout. On February 26, ‘The Problem Child’ had his momentum halted when he lost a split decision against Tommy Fury. He now looks to get back on track by taking out Diaz, who is making his boxing debut after last fighting in September 2022 at UFC 279.
