Jon Jones Uninterested By Current Title Challengers
Jon Jones has had to face a few lesser-known fighters in his last two title defenses. Now he is threatening to sit out for two years, if he does not get better opponents soon.
Jones has had a strong run in the light heavyweight division, only losing to Matt Hamill, and himself. Therefore, he has all but wiped out the division several times. As a result, he has been flirting on and off, with considering moving to heavyweight.
There were reports of a potential fight coming soon for Jones. Nevertheless, he is still without an opponent. In fact, in a recent tweet, he says is not even sure who his next opponent will be. Furthermore, he explains that he has struggled with motivation for his last two opponents.
Really not sure when I’ll be fighting next, feel like I have nothing to gain by beating Dominic. I’ve actually felt that way about my last two opponents. I want a super fight https://t.co/Z3QTEpu2yr

However, in another Twitter post from Jon Jones, he says he may do something else. In the message, he expresses incredible disinterest in the current lineup of contenders. So much so, that he is threatening to sit out for a while.
Sometimes I think about sitting out and just training for the next two years, then coming back and challenge in the light heavyweight who’s been the most dominant.. wouldn’t that be wild https://t.co/dINaJPatQD

Following that, Jones concluded with an expression of frustration trying to find heat with people like Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos. Furthermore, despite Dominick Reyes’ recent win over Chris Weidman, Jones is having similar issues there, as well.
Had a chip on my shoulder against Gus. Fighting Smith Santos Dominic??? I’m having a hard time even talking shit to this last dude. They all say the same lame shit.. I want a fight to be excited about

Jon Jones is one of the most well-known fighters in the UFC. However, things are always spicier when there is a rivalry. Perhaps he will sit out for two years. On the other hand, the best way for Jones to have huge fights, would be for him to make the move to heavyweight.
