Jon Jones, known for his dominance as UFC Heavyweight Champion, is now stepping into a completely new challenge. While his reign in the Octagon remains legendary, Jones is turning to acting to explore a different kind of spotlight. His latest project is a short film titled Edo’s Crossing, where he plays a Navy Seal.
Jon Jones Moves From the Cage to the Camera in Navy Seal Role
This is not Jones’ first time in front of the camera. Earlier this year, he appeared in Netflix’s La Cage, portraying himself. However, Edo’s Crossing offers him a deeper role, one that lets him showcase his adaptability outside the fight world. Jones recently shared on-set pictures, giving fans a sneak peek of him in action. Dressed in tactical military gear, he is seen alongside cast members engaged in intense scenes that include tossing grenades and leading missions.
Posting about the experience on social media, Jones captioned his photos with the phrase “LT Bones at your service.” It is clear he is enjoying the shift to a new craft. “Get into acting they said, it’d be fun they said…”
Switching to a reflective tone, Jones added:
“Man, what a humbling experience. Stepping into acting feels like a whole new game, and I’m ready to put in the work, just like I always have. I’m honored, I’m motivated, and I’m excited for what’s ahead. This is only the beginning. The grind doesn’t stop—let’s keep building something special. The future’s looking real bright.”
While fans wait for more updates about the film, including its release date, Jones continues to balance his transition to acting with his responsibilities as a fighter. At 37, he has said he plans to fight two more times in the UFC before retiring. He recently defended his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic, but has been vocal about his terms for future bouts.
In a recent interview, Jones shared that acting will play a big part in his life after MMA. He expressed his excitement about storytelling in a different way, comparing it to the preparation and creativity he brings to the Octagon.
“Within the next five years, I wanna win one more fight, maybe even two more fights and try and make as much money as possible in the UFC. And I want to launch my acting career. I’ve always wanted to be an actor.”
With a fighting career nearing its conclusion and an acting journey just beginning, Jon Jones seems to be paving a unique path for himself. Whether as a champion or as an actor, he continues to push boundaries and inspire those who follow his journey.
