- Jon Jones made a shocking admission about his last light heavyweight fight
- ‘Bones’ manifests about heavyweight gold
Jon Jones has no intention of going back to light heavyweight. The former UFC Champion sees his story and ‘destiny’ written up at heavyweight instead.
“My candle for light heavyweight blew out”
Despite being out of the picture, Jones continues to improve his arsenal and has also been outspoken about his thoughts through social media. In one of his most recent tweets, “Bones” confessed that he wasn’t pleased by his last performance as the 205-pound king.
However, Jones also emphasized that he is thrilled to welcome the “new season” ahead of him, hinting at making a strong breakthrough at heavyweight.
“My candle for light heavyweight blew out, it showed in my last fight, instead of being discouraged by a bad performance, I’m stoked about this new season,” Jones tweeted. “New energy. My time at LWH was over, I see that more clear today than ever.”

‘Destiny’
Moving on from his legendary light heavyweight run, Jones believes it’s his destiny to win a different crown. The title of baddest man on the planet. It’s something that’s been on his mind for a while now.
“I’ve been imagining it for over two years now,” Jones continued. “I genuinely believe winning this heavyweight championship is in my destiny. It’s already been written. I just need to keep my nose in the dirt for now and keep working, everything else will take care of itself.”

Legal and personal problems may slowed down Jones, but it won’t stop him. The former champion may very well have a chance to make even more history in his next outing.
UFC President Dana White has already left the door open for Jones. As per White, if Ngannou’s knee rehabilitation will take long and they will be prompted to have an interim heavyweight title fight. Perhaps”Bones” can jump into it in his return and it will take him one step closer to the undisputed title.
