Jon Jones doesn’t want Steven Seagal in his corner because he thinks Jet Li is better

If you told me a year ago that Steven Seagal would coach multiple UFC fighters to incredible knockout victories, I probably would have bought you another round of whatever adult beverage you already consumed too many of that night. I’d make sure your drink had a little umbrella in it, just so you had a reason to change the subject to an existential analysis of where decorative cocktail umbrellas originated. Unfortunately, all things return to Steven Seagal and eventually we’ll agree that the umbrella is in your drink because Steven Seagal put it there. We’ll end the evening with the karaoke mic in our hands, thanking Steven Seagal for everything he’s given us, an we’ll proceed to suffer through our imminent hangovers.

Jon Jones recently saw what Steven Seagal had to say to Ariel Helwani after UFC 135 and isn’t convinced that Steven Seagal is nearly the cornerman that Jet Li would be.

“I don’t wanna bad mouth him too bad, he had good intentions, I think. But yeah, I definitely wasn’t having Steven Seagal in my corner. I could see if it was Jet Li or something, Jet Li would be pretty cool. I would definitely take that call, for sure.”

I’d be lying if I told you I reached out to Jet Li for a comment on all this, but I will later, if I don’t forget. Right now I’m busy watching “Hard to Kill” and waiting for the bodega delivery man to bring me a fresh bag of microwavable popcorn. [Source]
