Jon Jones Stops Alexander Gustafsson Via Savage Ground And Pound Attacks In The Third Round!
UFC 232 is happening now live on PPV (pay-per-view) from inside The Forum in Inglewood, California.
The main event of the evening brings the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight title fight between the former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones and always dangerous Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson.
The two already fought in a title match once, at UFC 165 on September 21, 2013, where Jones won via unanimous decision. Let’s go!
Round 1
Marc Beltran is the referee. Jones starts the match of his knees! Both fighters in the clinch left knee attempt Jones. High kick Gustafsson. Fighters are very cautious.

Good kick Jones. Gus misses with a right hand. Great low kick Jones. Gustafsson misses a teep kick. What a left hand miss by Jones, but corrects with a left body kick. Excellent left knee from the clinch. Fighters circling, and Gustafsson defends high kick attempt.
The Swede jabs, and goes for a left hook. Superb middle kick Jones. He controls the fight.
Oh, it looks like Jon Jones was eye gauged!!! The doctor steps in. Gustafsson is warned by the ref.
The fight continues. Low kick blocked. Good punches by Gustafsson. Left hand Alexander. Spinning back elbow but too short, Jones evades. Low kick Jones.
Good kick to the thigh Jones. Gustafsson chases him and misses with a left hook. Amazing low kick Jones, what a strike. Good jab counter from the former champ. Low kick Jones, this had to hurt. And now middle kick.
Elbow to the face, and now the straight punch. Jones switches stances often. Jones defends these jabs well. Body punch attempt but missed, fighters are in the clinch, Jones delivers an elbow to the face and escapes. Spinning back kick Jones. I’d say Jones won this round.
Round 3
Left hook Jones. Now left hand, Gustafsson.
Takedown Jones!
Jones in the half guard now, his elbows are brutal, he passes to side control, Gustafsson is in big trouble. Jones returns to the half-guard again. Oh, again big trouble for Gus, Jones passes to a side mount. Jon tries to go for a crucifix but Gustafsson defends.
Final Result: Jon Jones defeats Alexander Gustafsson via TKO (ground and pound strikes, round 3, 2:02)
Oh, Jones has his back now, punches him off the back, what a brutal combo by Jones. He rains punch after punch, and the referee stops the fight!!!
Victory for Jon Jones!
