‘Feed Off Picograms’ Jon Jones Fires Back At Cain Velasquez Remarks That He Can Beat Him

Jon Jones To Cain Velasquez: ‘My Heavyweight Days Are Inevitable’

A former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez who’s returning to Octagon after nearly two years of hiatus against knockout artist Francis Ngannous in the main headliner of UFC Pheonix this weekend. He recently caught up with TMZ sports, where a reporter asked him how he’d do against Jon Jones if ‘Bones’ ever moved to heavyweight, on that Velasquez said ‘I think I can beat him.’

Jones who’s also gearing up for his upcoming fight against Anthony Smith at UFC 235 on March 2nd, caught wind of those comments and fires back promptly.

“Your confidence is going to have to be on lock in order to beat me my guy. Can’t be talking about ‘I think I can.’ I feed off picograms of self-doubt, and I can smell it from miles away. 🦁 For now let’s just focus on the fights ahead of us. My heavyweight days are inevitable.”

UFC light heavyweight champion has teased multiple times in the past to move to heavyweight, and he made it known in his recent post as well. Moving to heavyweight may take a while for Jones even his coach said ‘Bones’ wants to stay at 205-pound for the foreseeable future.

Even back in 2015, Jones said he’s skillset to beat Cain. So it’d be interesting to see if these two top fighters get a chance to fight inside the Octagon, but before we talk further these two needs to get through their respective next matches.

Who do you think will emerge as a winner if these two fighters ever meet inside the cage?
