The UFC heavyweight champ, Jon Jones, beat Stipe Miocic in three rounds at UFC 309 to keep his shiny belt. This was his first time defending it since moving up to heavyweight.
People already called him the best MMA fighter ever because he was super strong and won so much at light heavyweight. Now, Jon is thrilled to see his name included alongside legends like Lionel Messi, Muhammad Ali, and Michael Jordan on an AI-generated list of the top 10 greatest athletes of all time.
“Bones” Reacts to AI Ranking Him with Sports Icons
Jon Jones recently shared an AI-generated list of the ‘The Top 10 Greatest Athletes,’ where he proudly landed in the seventh spot.
The list crowned Michael Jordan as the greatest athlete ever, followed by legendary names like Muhammad Ali, Pele, Usain Bolt, Lionel Messi, and Wayne Gretzky. Jones was ranked just ahead of icons like Tom Brady, Tiger Woods, and LeBron James.
Expressing his excitement, Jones said, “Just the thought of being mentioned alongside of these great athletes makes me happy. AI generated or not.”

Rankings have been a big talking point for Jones this year. With just one fight in four years, the UFC heavyweight champ dropped in the pound-for-pound rankings voted on by MMA journalists.
Jon Jones recently regained the #2 spot in the rankings, surpassing light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, but still sitting behind lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.
Despite this, UFC President Dana White believes Jones should be ranked above all other fighters in the UFC.
Dana White Advocates for AI-Generated UFC Rankings
Dana White has been saying all year that Jon Jones is the best fighter in the world and getting really mad at people who say otherwise.
After Jones won against Miocic, Dana thought that should make him number one again, but the people in charge of rankings didn’t agree.
Dana got upset when he found out Jones only moved up one spot in the rankings after beating such a great fighter.
He even asked Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg to make an AI system that could decide rankings, so he could get rid of the current system.
Dana posted on Instagram, saying, “I have to get rid of these CLOWNS! @Zuck let’s get this AI deal done ASAP!!!!!”
Dana White isn’t happy that Jon Jones isn’t the No. 1 pound per pound fighter on the new rankings 😳

Looks like AI might decide the rankings soon. The big question is, will Jones be number one when that happens?
