Sounds like John Kavanagh is close to done coaching Conor McGregor

LOL. Yeah, we’re not buying it. John Kavanagh said these words aloud, with what we assume was a straight face. Even Dillion Danis thinks this quote is over the top.

From the strange but interesting section of your local mixed martial arts library, we have John Kavanagh talking about Conor McGregor. In reality, what else would Coach Kav talk about if it was not Mystic Mac.

Speaking with the Sunday Independent, Kavangah gave a bizarre quote regarding if he would work with McGregor again. Coach Kav brushing off the biggest star in MMA history to the side like he’s some regional fighter with a .500 record?

LOL.

“Well, he would certainly have to convince me to go again. I love the whole journey we’ve had but I’d need a good ‘why’. It might be [Nate] Diaz again because he promised that fight. It might be a rematch with Khabib. But if it was just: ‘Well, they want me to fight that guy’ I think I’d say, ‘I wish you the best.’”

Kavanagh continued and we still think he’s 100% serious.

“He has a wife and two kids now and I don’t want him taking more hits than he needs to. Khabib hit him with a punch in that fight that he has never been hit with in his career. And even Superman slows down at some stage,”.

Not to pick sides, but what the hell is going on with Team McGregor if his head coach is talking like this? McGregor would have to kiss the ring for Coach Kav to work with him again?

We’ve always imagined what would have happened during Floyd vs. Conor, if Mac brought in actual boxing coaches to help him train and build a gameplan. Like, what if Conor McGregor trained with the Diaz Brothers, Serra-Longo, ATT or Coach Greg Jackson for his next training camp?

There is trouble in Dublin and maybe we’re closer than ever to the biggest name in the UFC hopping camps.
