John Dodson put his fist on Jussier Formiga’s chin and is now the flyweight no.1 contender

Through a series of feints, dodges and bouncing around the cage so fast it looked like nothing much was happening at all, John Dodson was able to cease all talks of Jussier Formiga being the next (relatively) big thing when he placed his powerful and tiny fist upon Formiga’s chin in the second round of tonight’s number one contender fight. The crowd booed the lack of flyweight action, but Dodson didn’t care to hear it. He just tallied his seventh knockout in fifteen wins, and he and Mighty Mouse Johnson will now have one of the most energetic fights anyone could ever book in the history of mankind. There will be lateral and forward movement, the Octagon will look like a colosseum  and we will marvel at their gastanks.

Flyweights are the corgis of MMA. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Grats John Dodson. Mighty Mouse just turned to his Xbox 360, popped in Resident Evil 6 and whispered to himself ‘it’s on.’
