- Joe Rogan said Daniel Cormier is an incredible fighter yet a friendly person
- The famous podcaster revealed that DC is the nicest person he has ever met
Joe Rogan praised Daniel Cormier for being such a nice guy.
Joe says DC is a ‘sweetheart of a guy’
Speaking on his JRE podcast, Rogan raised an interesting point as he revealed that having been working with the UFC for years, he could tell that the “friendliest” people are actually some of the most decorated UFC fighters. Among them, is former two-division champ DC.
“The friendliest people that I know are all killers. Some of my friends that fight in the UFC, if you didn’t know who they were and you met them, they are some of the loveliest people… Daniel [Cormier] was a light heavyweight champion and heavyweight champion. He was a two-division world champion and was dominating a weight class in Strikeforce that he didn’t even belong in heavyweight,” the UFC color commentator said.
“He’s like 5’11”, he’s not a big guy,” he added of Cormier. “He’s just such an insane tank of a human being. His wrestling was so insane and just his will was so insane. Dominated two different divisions. He was a killer. The nicest f**king guy you’d ever meet in your life. If you were hanging around him, you’d never believe that he could pick up anybody in the room and smash them on their head. You would never believe it. You would just think he’s this sweetheart of a guy.”
DC and Rogan’s friendship
After retiring from MMA, Cormier joined Rogan and transitioned into commentating. Over the years, the pair developed a great friendship and became close pals. In fact, DC once revealed that Rogan’s advice helped him cope with the criticisms being thrown at him over being biased as a commentator.
To this day, Rogan and Cormier are still friends and they often get called up to lead the commentary team during massive UFC events.
