Joe Rogan Shares His Regret About Talking to Daniel Cormier After Losing to Jon Jones

Back in 2017, at UFC 214 in Anaheim, Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier had a highly anticipated rematch that would end their fierce rivalry.

Daniel began the fight strong, but Jon delivered a stunning head kick that turned the fight around, ultimately securing his win.

After the fight, Joe Rogan quickly decided to interview Daniel Cormier, who was really upset. Cormier opened up and shared his emotions on live TV, and now Joe wishes he hadn’t done it. He still feels bad about that choice.

On his podcast, Joe Rogan said:

“The fight was crazy shocking how violent the ending was because Jon really did hate Daniel.

“I went to go talk to Daniel, and literally as I’m going to talk to him, he’s turning to me, and I have the microphone, I’m like, ‘Why am I interviewing him after he got knocked out? What the f**k is wrong with me’?

“I really care about that guy a great deal, and I just watched him get knocked out, and now his heart is pouring out, and he’s crying when he’s realizing he got knocked out and he lost the fight. It was all awful.

“So, I put up a post. It was haunting me all night. Nobody had said anything, nobody from the UFC got mad at me. It was just me thinking, ‘Why did I do that? Why did I interview him? I shouldn’t have interviewed him.”

Daniel Cormier shared a story about the time he felt super embarrassed in the ring. Even though losing to Jon Jones wasn’t easy, he knows Jon is an amazing fighter. But there’s one moment Daniel remembers that still makes him cringe, and he wishes no one ever saw it.
