Joe Rogan shared his honest thoughts on USADA being exposed by WADA for malpractices and corruption.

USADA was doing the opposite of their purpose

Discussing the subject with YouTuber Derek Munro on his JRE podcast, Rogan learned about how USADA allegedly hid PED-positive test results of some Olympic-level athletes and lifted provisional suspensions against the code.

After Munro elaborated that WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) was basically exposing USADA, the podcaster was stunned, realizing the UFC’s former anti-doping partner was doing the complete opposite of what they were supposed to.

“That’s so dirty. That’s literally contrary to the whole reason why they exist. What’s really crazy is according to the UFC, so what happened was the UFC had some disputes with them [USADA] and decided to sever their relationship and then USADA like publicly said that UFC is going to allow their competitors to do steroids now, which is not the case at all,” Rogan said.

USADA wasn’t testing EPO

Moreover, Rogan also commented on the allegations that USADA was not consistent in performing EPO tests. To emphasize how important EPO tests are, the UFC commentator cited the Cain Velasquez vs. Fabricio Werdum title fight that took place in a high-altitude place, which affects EPO levels of fighters.

“If they’re (USADA) not testing for EPO, for example, and maybe there’s an event in Mexico City, which is 7,700 feet above sea level, that place is brutal. That’s where Cain Velasquez, who was known as probably the greatest cardio heavyweight of all time, fought Fabricio Werdum. He did not prepare properly… Fabricio actually moved to the mountains above Mexico City and trained there for like four months,” Rogan explained.

“So Fabricio, who speaks fluent Spanish and lived in Mexico, really got ready, and he beat Cain Velasquez that night to become the champion,” he continued.

It can be recalled that the UFC has officially cut its ties with USADA as soon as the year 2024 began. The split was reportedly due to conflicts between the two parties, stemming from the issue with Conor McGregor not being allowed to compete due to the six-month testing rule.
