DDP is still hitting his stride
Rogan and his pals tuned in on UFC 312 in the studio until the end of the main event bout. As expected, most of them expected that “Stillknocks” will be declared the winner via decision after five rounds.
Assessing Du Plessis’ performance after the official results, the UFC commentator gushed over the reigning middleweight champion’s ability to mix things up. Moreover, Rogan also emphasized that DDP is constantly improving.
“DDP fought really well, man… He’s a tough puzzle to figure out. A very tough fight to figure out. He’s a big f**ker for 185 [pounds] too. That’s a big f**ker. He did a really good job of setting up, throwing that low kick, switch kick to the body, and kept that pace up for the entire five [rounds]… He keeps getting better,” Rogan said of Du Plessis.
DDP vs. Alex would be different
After his dominant victory over Strickland, “Stillknocks” called out light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. Rogan got hyped about the potential super fight and shared his thoughts on DDP vs. Pereira in a nutshell.
The way Rogan sees it, Du Plessis vs. Pereira would be completely different from UFC 312 as it is likely to end in a knockout.
“Yeah, [that’s a different fight] That’s night-night when you get touched game,” Rogan said of DDP vs. Pereira.
The win did not only see Du Plessis beating Strickland twice but also defending his title for the second time in a row. Aside from Pereira, Khamzat Chimaev is also being viewed as a top candidate opponent for Du Plessis’ next fight.
