Joe Rogan has thoughts on Jake Paul’s next move. On a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC commentator talked about Paul’s idea to fight boxing champ Anthony Joshua in 2026. Rogan finds the wait strange. He broke it down with a sharp guess for his listeners.
Rogan Drops His Take
Rogan laid it out clear.
“Jake wants to fight Anthony Joshua now? So he wants to fight Anthony Joshua in 2026…Well, like, what about fight him now? He’s [Paul] like, ‘No, I want to wait till 2026.’ [I think he] put on all the steroids,” he said on his podcast.
He’s stumped why Paul isn’t jumping at Joshua sooner. The steroid bit is Rogan guessing Paul’s planning a big bulk-up.

Canelo Talks Fall Apart
Paul first eyed Canelo Alvarez. After beating Mike Tyson on November 15, 2024, he pushed for that fight. Talks started, with a May 2025 bout in Las Vegas nearly set. Then Canelo signed a four-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season on February 6, 2025. That ended the Paul plan. Canelo’s next fight is William Scull in May, followed by Terence Crawford in September. Paul’s shift came after this snag.
Paul Pivots to Joshua
When Canelo walked away, Paul turned to Anthony Joshua. On his BS with Jake Paul show in March 2025, he called out the former heavyweight champ. Joshua, 35, last fought in September 2024, losing to Daniel Dubois by knockout. Paul sees a chance against him, but the 2026 timeline stands out. Rogan’s podcast crew jumped on that odd choice.
Paul’s 10-1 record shines after the Tyson win on Netflix. Joshua holds a 28-4 record, with a big knockout over Francis Ngannou in March 2024. Both are active, yet Paul waits. Rogan thinks two years is too long when Joshua’s ready now. His steroid guess ties to Paul’s next move.
Paul began boxing in 2020. He took down YouTubers and ex-MMA stars like Tyron Woodley. The Tyson victory in Texas marked a peak. He chased Canelo for a blockbuster, but it slipped. Now Joshua’s the target, though the wait keeps Rogan talking.
Joshua lost his belts to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022. He’s won four of his last five since. Eddie Hearn, his promoter, says he’s open to fights anytime. Paul’s 2026 pick over a sooner clash has Rogan questioning the holdup.
