Rogan Wants To See A Boxing Matchup Between The Two Contrasting Fighters!

Joe Rogan and former fighter Brendan Schaub discussed the possibility of a Francis Ngannou and Deontay Wilder fight on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. And Rogan seriously believes UFC Heavyweight Francis Ngannou (13-3) would at least connect in a match against WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (41-0-1).

“Mark my words, if Francis Ngannou decides to jump ship and go heavyweight boxing, he will nuke some fools… nuke some fools,” said Rogan. But he explained… “It’s going to take a long time to get to Wilder’s level. Wilder is a World champion, and he’s undefeated. Look Francis Ngannou is not ready to box Wilder right now, but let me tell you something, he might connect”.

“Wilders’ not the slickest guy in the World we’re not talking about Muhammad Ali or Floyd Mayweather,” said Rogan.

“The Predator” Francis Ngannou has defeated some elite fighters like the legendary Alistair Overeem, and Cain Velasquez via knockout as his punching power is insane. But, stepping into the ring with an undefeated boxing champion in Deontay Wilder would probably be a bad idea.

Wilder recently defeated Dominic Breazeale in a fight earlier this month and cemented his dominance in the sport. He’s a powerhouse despite what people say about his technique and should be praised for his phenomenal performances in the ring.

And there’s no doubt he’d dominate Francis Ngannou as boxing is what he does, whereas Ngannou is an MMA fighter. The rules are much different, but the conversation shouldn’t take away from the fact that Ngannou is a beast in his own right.

Rogan explained how brutal his punching power is against most fighters….

“Francis Ngannou, everybody he connects on other than Stipe, goes night night. Stipe survived, Stipe figured out how to use his championship medal and his grit, and use his takedowns and won the fight”.

The podcast ended with Schaub saying he wanted to see Francis Ngannou fight UFC Light-Heavyweight champion Jon Jones, but they both agreed that Jones would win that matchup due to his superior wrestling skills. Jones is an amazing all-around fighter and arguably the greatest of all time.

So, a fight against Jones would seem more likely than a Ngannou-Wilder fight as the two are in different sports. But, Joe Rogan believes it would be very interesting to see.
Francis Ngannou is scheduled to fight Junior Dos Santos on June 29, so we’ll see if he can continue to flaunt his physical prowess in the octagon.
