Joe Rogan shared his take on the recent controversies and conversations surrounding transgender children.
The longtime UFC color commentator hosted Vice President-elect JD Vance during an episode of his popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, where the two had a lengthy conversation about gender dysphoria and trangenderism among today’s youth.
While Vance asserted that transgenderism is like a “cult and a religion,” Rogan’s take was a little more tempered, suggesting that children simply shouldn’t be allowed to make life-altering decisions.
“We’ve always known that children are very easily influenced and that children shouldn’t be allowed to make life-changing decisions when they’re very young,” Rogan said. “That’s why they can’t get tattoos. We’ve always known that, and then all of a sudden because of gender, that’s abandoned. We’ve completely changed the way we think children — ‘Oh, they just know.’ I’ve had mind-numbing conversations with people who believe that and it all falls apart if you just keep asking questions.
“Just ask them to define how can you know this, what about the development of the frontal lobe. What about this understanding that children have never been able to make life-changing decisions? You don’t allow them to drink alcohol. You don’t allow them to get tattoos. You can’t join the military when you’re 10. There’s a lot of sh*t you can’t do when you’re a little kid. Why are you letting them change their gender? What does this even mean?”
“It’s a way to be special without putting in any work”

Rogan believes that allowing children to change their gender could have serious consequences for them in the future.
“For a lot of these children, they’ll never have children,” Rogan added. “If one day they decide, ‘Oh, I just going through a confusing time in my life, but now I’ve ruined my voice with hormones, my ovaries are destroyed, I had my testicles removed.’ The whole thing is crazy.”
Joe Rogan Questions Why Hollywood is Seeing a Rise in Trans Children
Rogan also addressed transgenderism among the children of Hollywood actors, suggesting that it’s almost being treated as a badge of honor for some.
“I’m just gonna say it even though it sounds gross — [some parents] want their kid to be part of the LGBTQ community because it looks like a flag of virtue that they can post on their front lawn,” he said. “‘Oh, look. We have a queer child.’ There’s a weird thing about it with some of these nutty parents.
“There has to be some reason why this enormous percentage of Hollywood kids are trans. How many celebrities have trans kids? It’s new. It’s not a thing that was going on just a few years ago. It was rare in the past.”
While Rogan didn’t name anyone specific, Megan Fox has come under fire in recent years after former Congressional candidate Robby Starbuck claimed that the Transformers star had “forced” her kids to “wear girl’s clothes” and likened her parenting methods to “child abuse.”

Fox has three children; Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, eight, who she co-parents with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green. In 2022, Fox noted in an interview that her oldest son began wearing dresses at two years old. She ultimately chose to raise her children in a non-gender binary lifestyle.
Her admission sparked a lot of backlash from the conservative community and raised more questions about the influx of trans children in upper-class families.
