Joe Rogan recently praised Paddy Pimblett for his clever fighting style and recent triumphs. His comments aired on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast on May 6, 2025.

Pimblett, a Liverpool native, boasts a 23-3 MMA record and a perfect 7-0 UFC run. He climbed to No. 8 in the lightweight rankings after his latest victory.

The 30-year-old’s charisma, with wild hair and playful antics, masks his lethal ability. Rogan believes this deception gives Pimblett an edge in the octagon.

Rogan said, “Paddy’s a big lightweight. I always say he tricks people by dancing and having silly hair. That’s a killer. He’s tricking you; he’s like one of those bugs that pretends it’s a stick, and then he attacks you.” This tactic fools opponents into underestimating him.

Pimblett’s biggest moment came at UFC 314 on April 12, 2025, in Miami. He stopped Michael Chandler via TKO in Round 3 at 1:46 with a jumping knee and ground strikes.

At UFC 304 on July 28, 2024, in Manchester, Pimblett submitted Bobby Green. His triangle choke ended the bout in 3:22 of Round 1, stunning the crowd.

He also outclassed Tony Ferguson at UFC 296 on December 16, 2023. Pimblett’s unanimous decision victory showcased his grappling and striking prowess.

Pimblett’s size, at 5’10” and 170 pounds off-season, surprises foes. Rogan noted his physicality overwhelms smaller lightweights like Green, who stands 5’8”.

Pimblett’s Fame Grows with Standout Performances

Rogan compared Pimblett’s dominance over Chandler to Charles Oliveira’s struggles. Oliveira faced danger in Rounds 1 and 3 against Chandler at UFC 274 and UFC 309.

Rogan stated, “I love Chandler as well, and I love Paddy. He’s very impressive. There’s a good argument that the last three guys he fought — Bobby (King) Green, Chandler and Tony Ferguson — he’s fighting guys with losing records, which is true. But it’s still very impressive. What he did to Chandler in comparison to what Charles Oliveira did. Oliveira was in real trouble in the third round of their last fight, and in real trouble of the first round of their first fight. Paddy was never in trouble.” Pimblett’s control stood out.

Chandler, with a 2-5 UFC record since 2020, struggled against Pimblett’s pressure. Pimblett landed 62 significant strikes to Chandler’s 29.

Dana White lauded Pimblett’s UFC 314 performance, saying he proved doubters wrong. Israel Adesanya told Pimblett backstage, “I’m gonna stop counting you out”.

Chael Sonnen called Pimblett’s TKO the best of UFC 314, even over the title fight. Anthony Smith praised his striking growth and physical condition.

Fans on X debated Pimblett’s title shot chances, with some eyeing a clash with No. 1 Arman Tsarukyan. Others argued he needs a top-5 opponent first.

Pimblett switched to cornrows since 2023 to avoid misjudged strikes. He told reporters his old hairstyle made foes think he was rocked when he wasn’t.

His trash-talking flair, like calling rivals “helmets,” adds to his star power. Rogan’s impression of Pimblett’s Liverpool accent at UFC 314 drew laughs but fan criticism.

Pimblett aims for a title shot, possibly at UFC’s Abu Dhabi card in 2025. He told Joe Rogan post-fight he wants top contenders next.

With endorsements from White, Adesanya, and Rogan, Pimblett’s stock is soaring. Fans await “The Baddy” in his quest for UFC gold.
