Joe Pyfer now holds not one, but two wins over UFC standout Gerald Meerschaert.

In the main event of Fury Pro Grappling 7, Pyfer secured a unanimous decision victory over Meerschaert, impressing Dana White, who sees him as a role model for everyone.  The victory on the mat comes six weeks after his first-round knockout against Meerschaert at UFC 287 on April 8. It was Pyfer’s second win under the Fury Pro banner, having bested Eryk Anders last December.

Pyfer earned a contract with the UFC after being the only bright spot on an uncharacteristically abysmal episode of Dana White’s Contender Series in July 2022. ‘Bodybagz’ earned a second-round knockout over Ozzy Diaz, a performance that prompted the UFC President to coin the phrase, ‘Be Joe Pyfer.’

Pyfer kept his momentum going in his official UFC debut, defeating Alen Amedovski in the first round of their September clash. He followed that up with the win over Meerschaert inside the Octagon, going 2-0 with back-to-back knockouts. Pyfer is 11-2 overall in his mixed martial arts career and is currently riding a four-fight win streak dating back to 2021.
