  • Joanna Jedrzejczyk revealed that being a bully was not her true identity and personality
  • The former strawweight champ felt ashamed of her image

Joanna Jedrzejczyk insists that in real life, she is far from the “bully” she was in the UFC.

Joanna is not a “bully”

Jedrzejczyk gained significant attention for her so-called “bully” persona leading up to her fights. This fierce and intimidating image captivated fans, creating a buzz around her matches. However, in a candid revelation on Miesha Tate’s podcast, Jedrzejczyk shared that it was not a true reflection of her character.

She suggested that her behavior was heavily influenced by external factors within the fighting community. The pressure to maintain a certain image, combined with the competitive nature of the sport, contributed to her adopting this tough demeanor. Moreover, Jedrzejczyk confided that she wasn’t proud of that image she portrayed.

“I want people to know more [about me]. Because what they see, they see me only getting knocked out, being like bully before the fight. I was like yeah some people get it as in bully, but I was not bully you know, like there were people who were creating this drama. And of course, I was the one who’s executing this you know, and I feel ashamed sometimes, but it wasn’t me,” the former strawweight champion opened up.

Joanna is open to fighting for the BMF title

Jedrzejczyk officially retired in 2022 and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame two years later. She is certain she has nothing left to prove in her career but once expressed a desire to return and fight for the BMF title against Jessica Andrade.

Jedrzejczyk logged an impressive 16-5 pro MMA record and is widely regarded as one of the greatest female fighters in UFC and MMA history.
