Joanna Jedrzejczyk Believes She Will Get The Title Back By End Of 2018

Former strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk made a quick turnaround to square off against Tecia Torres at the upcoming UFC on FOX 30 event in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on July 28, 2018.

Once upon a time, Joanna Jedrzejczyk (14-2) was considered the most dangerous women’s fighters in the game, is aiming to rebound from two back to back losses to current strawweight champion Rose Namajunas with the most recent took place at UFC 223 in Brooklyn, New York.

With her recent lost, Joanna Jedrzejczyk felt that she was robbed off a win against Namajunas and even went on to claim that both UFC president Dana White and Namajunas’ coach agree with her. After that Jedrzejczyk came up with the idea of moving up to flyweight but she wants a trilogy with Namajunas, whether it happens immediately, or after she earns one more win at strawweight.

Joanna feels confident that it’s only a matter of time before she’s on top again, on a recent interview on The MMA Hour. (Quotes via MMAMania)

“I am very happy to fight Tecia. The good thing is she fought Jessica Andrade in her last fight; she lost that fight. But (sic) Jessica Andrade is going to be the challenger for Rose Namajunas. So I am very happy to face Tecia Torres and get the title shot after this fight, I want this belt, and I will get this belt back. Mark my words.”

“I have a big plan to get the belt back at the end of the year, and I’m still the strawweight, I know more than you guys and I am very happy to have this fight. Tecia Torres is a real warrior so I am very happy to face her. She was training at American Top Team for a long time, she left a year ago. I think it’s good and it will be a very interesting fight.”

It has proven exceptionally tough for UFC fighters to get a third title shot after dropping two straight championship contest in a row, but Jedrzejczyk believes she will get another title shot if she scores a win over Torres this summer.

“I believe I am going to get title shot after this fight. But I said I could have a lot of fights before I get title shot, I went through this in 2014 and 2015. I want this belt and I will get it back, mark my words.”

Tecia Torres three-fight winning streak snapped when Jessica Andrade picked a unanimous decision win at UFC on Fox 28 in February.

Before get the title shot, a Joanna Jedrzejczyk needs to cross the bumpy ride against Tecia. Do you think Jedrzejczyk will pick a win over Torres?
