Watch: Jo Jo Calderwood & Kalindra Faria already had the best face-off of the weekend

Jo Jo Calderwood face off

Can’t believe this fight is on the prelims this weekend. Jo Jo Calderwood & Kalindra Faria both have their backs against the walls heading into UFC Lincoln this Saturday night.

Is that why this fight is banished to the prelims? Both Calderwood and Faria are coming off back to back losses. This is a loser leaves town match and the UFC should market it as such.

Is the UFC creative writing team asleep at the wheel?

Looking over Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night 135 or something fight card, this event actually features the rare Fox Sports 2 prelim portion. Don’t know if “Fox Sports 2 worthy” is something you can label but Jo Jo Calderwood & Kalindra Faria are both action fighters who deserve a label we just made up.

Jo Jo was choked out by Jessica Andrade in 2016 then lost to Cynthia Calvillo in 2017 by decision. Kalindra was choke out by Mara Romero Borella in 2017 and lost a close split decision to Jessica Eye in January 2018.

Somebody’s losing streak has to go and we feel both Jo Jo and Kalindra are important pieces to the UFC’s women’s flyweight roster. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the UFC needs interesting under card fighters to fill out their roster.

Both Calderwood and Faria have cool backstories and it would be a shame if one of them got cut after Saturday. This morning at the UFC Lincoln weigh-ins both Jo Jo and Kalindra gave us a bad ass face off where lasers may or may not have projected from their eyes.

Is there some kind of hate here? Not sure, but after seeing this weigh-in stare-down we really want to see 125 pound violence on Saturday night. Thank you for that Jo Jo Calderwood & Kalindra Faria.
