Jiri Prochazka is not begging the UFC to run it back with Alex Pereira. Even after getting stopped twice by Pereira in title fights, the former light heavyweight champion says he is not stuck on revenge and is not carrying that loss around like unfinished business.

Speaking to New York Post Sports, Prochazka said:

“I’m not pushing the UFC to give me Alex. I’m not obsessed with that. I’m not the guy who holds some bad emotions, like, ‘I have to defeat Alex Pereira. Til that time I won’t find calm.’ I really don’t care. Every fall down will strengthen your mind and spirit. And you have to come back and be the best.”

Prochazka is not pretending the losses did not matter. He is saying they do not control what comes next. Instead of waiting on one name, he is moving toward the next title opportunity in front of him.

The division has changed fast since those Pereira fights. Pereira moved out of the light heavyweight title picture, while Prochazka is now lined up to face Carlos Ulberg for the vacant belt. That shift already took shape after Pereira vacated the UFC light heavyweight title and set up Prochazka vs. Ulberg for UFC 327.

Prochazka also worked his way back quickly. After the second Pereira loss, he rebounded with stoppage wins over Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr., which put him right back in the title mix. That matters more right now than talking in circles about a trilogy that is not on the schedule.

Pereira has his own path now, with attention moving toward heavyweight and new matchups there. That side has already picked up momentum too, especially with recent talk around Pereira and a possible Ciryl Gane fight.
