Jiri Prochazka is done talking about mercy after UFC 327. Back home in the Czech Republic, the former light heavyweight champion gave a much simpler explanation for what happened against Carlos Ulberg and put the blame on himself. The loss already sparked fallout across the division, from Ulberg winning the belt in Miami to Prochazka calling himself stupid right after the fight.
Speaking after arriving home, Prochazka said:
“I didn’t give the performance that I wanted. I literally f–ked it up.”
In Miami, Prochazka appeared to hesitate after Ulberg hurt his leg, then walked into the finishing sequence and got stopped. Now he is backing away from the pity angle and owning the mistake more directly.
“I literally fucked it up”

Jiri Prochazka changes his tone after UFC 327
Prochazka said:
“I won’t make excuses about some pity or compassion for him. I know that at that moment, I no longer worked at one hundred percent. That then cost me the victory. I want to eat this up here until the worst end, so that I can, with all these emotions, with this feeling, go further and go for that title again.”
He also made clear he still expects to stay in the title mix even if nothing is decided yet. Prochazka said:
“I talked with the UFC management, they are open towards all sorts of other alternatives, whether just some interesting fight or just jump for title shot. I am not saying yet, nothing is confirmed yet. However, I know after this performance I will no longer be the same and give these performances that I gave. After this experience, I will be stronger than ever before, and I’ll bring that title back to the Czech Republic.”
That is where things stand now. Prochazka has moved off the mercy explanation, admitted he blew the moment, and is already talking about the road back. At the same time, Ulberg is not interested in rushing into a rematch, so Jiri may need another step before he gets back to the belt.
