Jared Leto Wants To Play Conor McGregor In UFC Movie, McGregor Responds

Leto believes he is probably too old to play McGregor but didn't rule out the possibility, especially with some CGI being involved.

Jared Leto wants to play Conor McGregor if there ever was a UFC movie.

While there are no plans for a UFC movie, it wouldn’t be surprising if there was one in the future and it focused on McGregor.

After all, McGregor remains the biggest star the sport has ever produced and is one of the most well-known names worldwide.

Not to mention the fact that it would be quite the story given McGregor’s rise from humble beginnings to the mega star that he is today.

Leto would love to play the part of McGregor, but believes his age would make him a more suitable candidate to play UFC president Dana White instead.

However, the Oscar winner didn’t rule the prospect out, especially with some CGI potentially being involved.

“Maybe I can play Dana White,” Leto said in a recent interview (via The Sun). “If we do the UFC movie, if I was younger, I’d play Conor McGregor. I got the beard.

“What Conor does and what these guys and gals do is just extraordinary. I’m too old to do Conor probably, but you never know. We could maybe use some CGI.”

Conor McGregor Responds To Jared Leto: ‘Practice The Part With Me!’

It didn’t take long for Leto’s comments to reach McGregor’s radar.

The Irishman posted an article on Twitter featuring Leto’s quotes and laid out an invitation to the actor to join him and practice the part.

Jared Leto, I invite you to come and practice the part with me! @jaredleto”

Until that happens, McGregor is targeting a return to action towards the end of summer.

While many expected him to waltz in to an instant lightweight title shot, the former two-weight champion is instead looking to become a three-weight champion by facing Kamaru Usman upon his return.

Whether that will happen remains to be seen for now.
