Turner says a BMF title fight with Holloway would make fans go crazy after his 39-second UFC 330 knockout.

Jalin Turner is already open to a BMF title detour after his UFC 330 knockout win over Kaue Fernandes.

Turner stopped Fernandes in 39 seconds on Saturday in Philadelphia, moving to a two-fight winning streak and keeping his professional wins inside the distance. The knockout is detailed in the original Turner vs. Fernandes result, and Turner used the post-fight window to entertain a bigger-name striking fight.

“I was trying to get a read on what was going to happen, kind of visualize what was going to happen,” Turner said after UFC 330. “And 39 seconds was not in any of my predictions, manifestations, prayers, nothing.”

Turner Wants The Fan-Friendly BMF Route

The BMF belt is currently held by Charles Oliveira, who won it against Max Holloway at UFC 323. Turner sounded more excited by the Holloway version of that idea than by the belt alone.

“That’s very enticing,” Turner said when asked about chasing the BMF belt. “Charles has it right now, right? Dang. Charles got it? See, if Max had it, it’d be more fun.”

Turner then explained why the Holloway matchup is the one that caught his attention. He did not dismiss Oliveira’s skill, but he said the stylistic picture changes if Holloway is standing across from him.

“Charles’ grappling is good,” Turner said. “I mean, but the way he got it wasn’t, you know, the most BMF style. You know, I’m just keeping honest.”

“If it was me and Max, we ran it for the BMF, that’d be tight,” Turner continued. “I think the fans would go crazy for that. Striking battle, like me and him. That’d be fun.”

Turner stopped short of naming a firm next opponent. The 30-year-old has rebuilt momentum after a rough stretch, and the Fernandes finish gives him a cleaner argument for another ranked lightweight or a fan-friendly booking.

“I don’t know what the future has to offer like as far as title fights go,” Turner said. “Y’all getting me amped up. Yeah, BMF title, Jalin Turner, whatever it is.”

UFC 330 has already produced several direct follow-ups, including Turner’s bonus-winning finish and Islam Makhachev’s main-event decision over Ian Machado Garry. Turner’s pitch adds another lightweight name to the post-event conversation, even if the promotion keeps the BMF picture pointed toward Oliveira for now.
