Tommy Fury Secures Split Decision Win Against Jake Paul – Paul vs. Fury Results (Highlights)

Tommy Fury silenced the doubters by taking out Jake Paul on February 26

Paul looked to validate his boxing journey by taking on ‘TNT,’ an undefeated boxer and half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. ‘The Problem Child’ was coming off a unanimous decision win against MMA legend Anderson Silva, while Fury last fought in an exhibition bout against Rolly Lambert in November. Both fighters have been underestimated because of their level of competition, but they were tested against someone their age with a similar level of experience. 

Round 1

Jake Paul flashing a lot of feints early. Fury looking to land early, but they keep clinching up. Fury is slightly overwhelming Paul, while Paul looks to land big overhand rights. Round 1 ends with a flurry from Fury.

Round 2

Both fighters staring round 2 trying to find their range. Paul is starting to walk down Fury, but he’s not landing many clean punches. Fury is moving a lot on the perimeter with his jabs starting to land. Paul is starting to find a home for his power punches. 

Round 3

Paul lands a stiff jab and pushes Fury against the ropes. Paul has landed several left hooks while Fury is throwing more combinations. Fury seems to be slowing down as he’s not moving around the perimeter as much. Paul is taking advantage of the decreased movement from Fury. 

Round 4

Fury comes out with a flurry of punches. Both fighters are slowing down, but their power is still showing. Fury is dominating this round, displaying composure and good combinations. Paul is looking to make up for the damage with big punches. Fury ends the round by landing a punch to the back of Paul’s head. 

Round 5

Fury’s punches have the better technique, but Paul still has the power to change things quickly. Paul lands a big overhand right. Fury wears it well and comes back with a flurry. The ref takes a point from Paul for a shot to the back of the head. Fury gets slightly wobbled but recovers well. Fury lands a clean right hand in the last 10 seconds. 

Round 6

Paul backs up Fury with a strong left hook. Fury continues to control the distance and damage Paul. Fury lands two right uppercuts that land flush. Paul is looking to clinch up frequently. Both fighters are clinching up more than the fans would like. Fury gets a point taken away for clinching up. Fury ends the round with several clean punches. 

Round 7

Both fighters come out firing. They continue to clinch up often. Fury is landing more punches, but the clinching is ruining the momentum. Combinations are minimal as both fighters are throwing one or two punches. Fury gets a big cut from an accidental headbutt. 

Round 8

Paul lands a big right hand to start the round. Fury lands a few solid punches but gets dropped suddenly by a stiff jab. Fury is starting to control the distance, but he needs to overcome the knockdown that could make the round 10-8. Fury is overwhelming Paul with half a round left. The round ends with a series of clinching.  

Official Result: Tommy Fury defeated Jake Paul by split decision (76-73 x2 and 74-75).
