Yoel Romero, the former UFC star known for his incredible strength, returned to competition this past weekend in a new and unique promotion created by fellow ex-UFC fighter Mike Perry.
Perry, also known as “Platinum,” launched the Dirty Boxing Championship with a private showcase event. Romero, famously called the “Soldier of God,” headlined the evening in a main event against slap-fighting competitor Duane Crespo, making for an unforgettable debut for the promotion.

Yoel Romero Sends a Message to Jake Paul Post Dirty Boxing Triumph
Mike Perry’s new promotion, Dirty Boxing, held its first event in an underground setting in Miami, keeping things low-key and exclusive. Fans online compared the unique atmosphere to scenes from Fight Club.
At 47 years old, Yoel Romero proved he’s still a force to be reckoned with, delivering a stunning first-round knockout against PowerSlap fighter Duane Crespo. Romero’s athleticism and power were on full display, reminding everyone why he’s a standout in combat sports.
After his victory, Romero confirmed he’s still under contract with PFL and Bellator and might soon fight for a title. However, he turned heads when he called out Jake Paul, publicly challenging the internet star turned boxer to a match. Could this be the next big fight? Only time will tell.
Jake Paul, known as “The Problem Child,” recently had a massive fight against Mike Tyson in an event streamed on Netflix. Since that showdown, several boxing champions have lined up to challenge him.
Now, Yoel Romero has thrown his name into the mix. The seasoned fighter hopes Paul will accept his offer to step into the Dirty Boxing ring for a matchup. Will Jake take on the challenge?
“Hey Jake Paul, you want to get dirty?” Romero asked Paul on X, while mentioning Mike Perry and Dirty Boxing.

Yoel Romero was really happy to see Jon Jones at the first Dirty Boxing event. Even though the fight was a secret and only a few people could watch, Jon made sure to be there to support his good friend Yoel. It meant a lot to Yoel to have Jon, a huge UFC champion, watching and cheering him on.
“Jonny and I have had a relationship for many years already, we’ve had a great friendship and I’m always very grateful whenever he comes to see me fight,” Romero told The Schmo.
“It’s no surprise everyone knows he is the figure in the sport of MMA and with all his success and all his triumphs for him to come and see me fight, it’s a great honor.
“He’s always giving me tips and sharing little tricks that work for the fight,” he said.
