Jack Della Maddalena is getting the biggest opportunity of his career. The Australian fighter has been pulled from his scheduled main event in London next month and will now challenge UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad at UFC 315 on May 10 in Montreal.
A Major Shake-Up in the Welterweight Division
Della Maddalena was originally set to face Leon Edwards on March 22 in what was likely a title eliminator. However, UFC CEO Dana White announced that Sean Brady would take his place in London. Instead of injury or travel issues, the change came because Della Maddalena was given a bigger opportunity—the chance to fight for the welterweight belt.

Top contender Shavkat Rakhmonov was initially set to challenge Muhammad but was forced to withdraw due to injury. This marks another setback for Rakhmonov, who had already missed out on a title fight last year when Muhammad suffered a late injury. Despite securing a dominant win over Ian Garry, Rakhmonov will now have to wait for his title shot.

Meanwhile, Della Maddalena is stepping up to the challenge. With an undefeated UFC record, the Australian striker will now have the chance to claim UFC gold in Montreal, shaking up the welterweight division in a major way.
