The UFC announced on Thursday that a huge middleweight fight between highly ranked contenders Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Kelvin Gastelum booked for UFC 224 on May 12 in Rio de Janeiro.

Jacare Souza was last seen in the main event of UFC on Fox 27, where he defeated fellow middleweight contender Derek Brunson for the second time by knockout. Prior to that bout, however, Souza was beaten by current middleweight champion Robert Whittaker last April with a vicious head kick and punches, snapping a two-fight win streak.
