It’s official: Hector Lombard is invading the UFC middleweight division

The one offshoot of pro wrestling that I encourage the MMA world to fully embrace is that of the new signee introducing himself by sprinting into the ring (cage) and making a surprise appearance to the delight of the crowd and home viewer. How awesome would it have been if Hector Lombard hopped the chain link of the octagon and challenged Brian Stann in Sweden? Answer: very awesome, borderline rawesome. I understand that in the age of the internet secrets are hard to keep, but I will keep on wishing for a day when the Strikeforce HWGP winner ziplines from the rafters to challenge a UFC heavyweight…

Maybe I should get to the point: Hector Lombard has signed with the UFC and all of a sudden the middleweight division got a whole lot more interesting. The owner of a twenty five fight win streak made it official via his Twitter.

His boss went on to congratulate him exactly one hour later.

Now we get to indulge on hypothetical matchups for the former Bellator champ for a few weeks. It seems like everyone on the Twitterverse wants Mark Munoz or Brian Stann, but I think the winner or Vitor/Wand would be very pleasing indeed.
