It looks like Mayhem vs. Diaz is really going to happen

Every time I mention Mayhem Miller, I feel the need to place the rest of the article in a clever limerick. Unfortunately, I’m not that adept in 18th century Irish literature, so I’ll just show you guys this painting of Pistol Pete Maravich. The dude also had a chain of pizzas restaurants in North Texas. I had my 8th birthday there.

We all remember the chaos that ensued shortly after Jason Miller entered the cage to confront Jake Shields about a potential rematch on April 17th in Tennessee. With Jake Shields booking to the UFC in the immediate future, it looks like Mayhem will never fulfill that wish. Instead, we all get to see a fight that is dripping with such a superfluous amount of amazing that it may force you to throw some fragile item against a wall. Ariel Helwani caught up with Scott Coker on The MMA Hour and it looks like the fight that we all briefly saw on CBS will have a sequel, and this time it will be sanctioned.

“I think ‘Mayhem’ versus Nick Diaz was a fight we were going to promote anyway. It was just going to be a matter of time. So I think that fight will happen.”

I believe that fight will happen probably in the next eight months to a year.”

In retrospect, it’s hilarious that people were disappointed when a dude named ‘Mayhem’ caused ‘mayhem’ inside the cage at Strikeforce Nashville. Let me fix that, ‘Son, I am disappoint‘. If someone can explain the humor in that internet meme, then you will make my day (for now). [Source]
