Israel Adesanya Trash-Talks Yoel Romero For “Gaming The System”

The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale headliner Israel Adesanya attacks Yoel Romero for his recent weight cut issues.

UFC Middleweight contender No.1, Yoel Romero, got two chances to earn the belt of Middleweight division. But both times, he had few pounds more and was claimed ineligible to fight. And despite he defeated Luke Rockhold at UFC 221, the belt couldn’t be his! Israel Adesanya has decided to talk about Romero’s critical behavior in public.

Despite Yoel Romero believes he is “the people’s champion”, Israel Adesanya calls everything bullshit, claiming the best Cuban mixed martial artist of all time is “gaming the system”. He even claims that the Cuban powerhouse preferred to fight heavy rather than fight for gold! (via MMAFighting)

“Look at Romero in his last fight. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t really care in the end because it was such a good fight, but regardless of what happened I didn’t want Romero to win,” Adesanya told MMA Fighting.

“Fuck that, the guy missed weight and it’s not even the first time he missed weight,” Adesanya said. “And he’s been caught doing other stuff in the past too. I think there’s an element of gaming the system there, it’s almost cheating to be honest.”

Yoel Romero had significantly USADA issues in 2016 when he was suspended for six months. The Soldier Of God is very often trash-talked by a lot of jealous people, so Israel Adesanya did nothing new.

But their possible showdown would be a tremendous fight to watch! But Israel Adesanya have to get past Brad Tavares, at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 27 Finale this weekend in Las Vegas. On the other side, Romero needs to learn what does proper weight means. We hope God will guide him on the way of understanding weight cuts.

What do you think, who would win if Israel Adesanya ever faces Yoel Romero? Would this be the best showdown between a wrestler and a striker in the history of UFC Middleweight division?
