UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya reacted to the co-main event of UFC 274 in a sleepy fashion. In a main card brimming with exciting athletes, Rose Namajunas’s bout against Carla Esparza turned out to be the snooze fest.

As a prolific striker, Adesanya is no stranger to putting on a show for the fans. While he’s been involved in a slow-paced fight against Yoel Romero himself, ‘Stylebender’ has developed a reputation for his fan-friendly style.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Israel Adesanya reacted to the entire UFC 274 main card. The ladies had a tough task ahead to go after Michael Chandler’s vicious knockout of Tony Ferguson. Covering the whole night in animated fashion, Izzy appeared to be dozing off during the co-main event.

“It was a long blink. I was blinking slowly”

One of Izzy’s friend suggested that he was meditating as another chimed in referencing his old fight with Romero saying that UFC 274’s women’s title fight might overtake it as the “most boring championship fight”.

UFC 274: major takeaways

There were three major points from the past Saturday’s thrilling night at UFC 274. In a night full of memorable moments, the following stand out the most.

  • Chandler became the first man to put Ferguson to sleep
  • Charles Oliveira lost his title on the weighing scales
  • Esparza became the UFC women’s strawweight champion

Starting things off with Randy Brown outscoring Khaos Williams to open the PPV show, Izzy praised Brown for his performance. He’d called this the “sleeper fight” to look out for prior to the event. Although Brown and Khaos were originally scheduled to be the final fight on the undercard, Donald Cerrone’s withdrawal bumped them up to the main card.

Esparza’s dethroning of Namajunas became one of the biggest talking points of the night with a lackluster performance. Oliveira’s statement win over Justin Gaethje puts him in prime position to get his belt back.
