Israel Adesanya To Meet Kelvin Gastelum For Interim Title At Upcoming UFC 236 (PPV) Event
Since reigning UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is recovering from his abdominal hernia, UFC decided to book an interim middleweight title fight between undefeated Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum for an upcoming UFC 236 Pay-Per-View (PPV) event on April 13 venue yet has to be determined, that’s according to ESPN.

‘The Last Stylebender’ is freshly coming off a unanimous decision win over legendary former UFC champion Anderson Silva at UFC 234 earlier this month. In the same event, Whittaker forced to pull out of a title fight due to hernia issue that left his opponent Kelvin Gastelum without a dancing partner.
Interesting the former Ultimate Fighter winner, Gastelum declared himself the 185-pound champion and walked around with a belt on his shoulder during UFC 234 festivities. Shortly after Kelvin appeared on Ariel Helwani MMA Show, where he said Nigerien kick-boxer couldn’t able to finish a 43-year old Silva and is not worthy of a title shot.
The undefeated Adesanya is 5-0 in the UFC, with all these five wins came in 2018.
The winner is expected to face Whittaker in a title unification bout later this year.
