Irene Aldana is no longer listed on the UFC roster after an 8-6 octagon run that included a bantamweight title fight.
MMA Fighting reported Friday that Aldana has been removed from the promotion’s roster. Aldana was still ranked inside the top 10 at bantamweight, but she had not competed since September 2024, when she dropped a decision to Norma Dumont at Noche UFC inside Sphere.
Aldana fought Amanda Nunes for the bantamweight title at UFC 289 in 2023. She lost a unanimous decision in what became Nunes’ final fight before retirement.

Aldana Leaves After A Long UFC Run
Aldana’s UFC record stands at 8-6. Her wins in the promotion included victories over Ketlen Vieira, Bethe Correia, Karol Rosa, Yana Santos, and Macy Chiasson.
Her most recent UFC appearance came against Dumont at Noche UFC in September 2024. Aldana suffered a deep cut during the fight and later showed the stitches from the injury after the decision loss.
The UFC has not announced a formal release statement, and roster removals do not always close the door on a future return. Aldana being taken off the active roster is still the clearest sign that her next fight, if there is one, may happen outside the promotion.
Aldana leaves the active roster as a former title challenger who spent years near the top of the 135-pound division and held wins over multiple UFC bantamweight contenders.
