In the battle of wrestling vs. BJJ, Phil Davis jabs his way to a victory over Vinny Magalhaes

You know, all I wanted after months and months and months of trash talk leading up to this fight, was some serious wrestling vs. BJJ action. But now, the clash of styles is just about as rare as a freakshow fight in 2013, and in return we got Phil Davis vs. Vinny Magalhaes in what was pretty much a boxing match for fifteen minutes… A boxing match that Phil Davis dominated. What can you do? It’s like playing against a really, really good Mortal Kombat player and instead of using any special moves all they do is uppercut and still beat you senseless. Actually no it’s not. Not at all. Super-awesome Brazilian Jiu Jitsu specialist vs. Division I wrestler with tons of trash-talking steam behind it doesn’t happen every day. This fight disappoints me Prometheus style. That’s a better example.

Vinny threatened in the first round with a brief taking of the back, but beyond that, it was all Phil, all day, with his vastly improved standup. Who should he fight next, Gegard?

I’m going to challenge someone to a grappling match in UFC 3 so I can get my fix now.
