Outspoken MMA fighter and boxer Dillon Danis is making headlines for his bold claim that his earnings from professional combat sports have surpassed those of former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson. Despite spending much of his career outside the Octagon, Danis has used high-profile fights and his media presence to generate significant income.

Danis, who holds a 3-0 professional MMA record and recently captured the MisFits Boxing 22 light heavyweight title with a swift guillotine choke against Warren Spencer, believes his financial impact in the sport rivals, and even exceeds, that of fighters with multiple UFC title reigns.

Danis Tells Demetrious Johnson About His Earnings

During a recent interview on the Mighty YouTube channel, Danis directly addressed Johnson, comparing his own financial gains to those amassed during Johnson’s reign as UFC flyweight champion.

“Right now, I’m making more money than you [Demetrious Johnson] probably made in all your title fights, no offense,” Danis said. “When you fight and you have a name that I have and the eyes that I bring, DAZN pays very well.”

He added that while competing inside the UFC might generate a different level of prestige, his financial opportunities outside the Octagon—through boxing and other promotions—have been more lucrative than traditional MMA earnings.

Danis has expressed interest in testing himself against top-tier UFC fighters, including welterweight contender Islam Makhachev, to further solidify his combat sports legacy. For now, however, his focus remains on leveraging high-profile fights for financial gain. His outspoken approach and willingness to compete in multiple arenas have allowed him to remain a prominent figure in the sport, despite being away from consistent UFC competition.
