If you’re a fighter and want to be in a Canadian MMA film, today is your lucky day…

This month has been really Canada heavy. I never thought I would live to see the day when I would say something like that. I don’t know what I can say about Canada that hasn’t already been said in a Steven Seagal movie. Let’s see…Kristin Kreuk lives up there, Brock Lesnar hates their health-care, they eat a combination of fries, cheese and brown sauce and prefers to call it ‘poutine‘ instead of the American English equivalent: filth. Besides hosting one of the most anticipated welterweight match-ups in recent history this weekend at UFC 129, a Canadian director plans to make an MMA movie called ‘Own3d’ and they’re looking for people to play a variety of roles, but as with all things, you must be hot.

Because of the number of MMA related roles I’ve been asked to find some MMA fighters for certain roles. At this time race is not relevant. The acting will be union but if you are non-union it does not disqualify you from possibly being part of the project. I’ve included a couple of character breakdowns below to give you an idea of the types of characters we are casting for. There are a number of roles for henchmen, bikers, male and female cops, corner men, etc. Of course we can always do cameos.

Special consideration (but not necessary) will be given to those who meet any of the following criteria:

-Well-known fighters with a fan base
-Canadian, especially if domiciled in Ontario
-Acting experience
-Attractive and/or unique look/personality

Remember we can use citizens from America and other countries; we just have to cast the majority of the project Canadian.

So you’re still trying to find out how you can work your way into your MMA film debut? Try playing the part of ‘Dumas’, as described by Owned Entertainment, the makers of ‘Own3d’.

“A biker who is absolutely without conscience. He gets off on hurting and terrorizing others. We can assume he’s lived a cowboy life of drinking, prostitutes, bar fights and traveling from town to town on his bike. He makes money as an enforcer for drug dealers. For him, life is a party and he is here for a good time, not a long time. He’s covered in scars and tattoos and has biker facial hair.”

If you feel like you can fulfill the role of scar-covered drug dealer that has a strong obsession with prostitutes, feel free to apply for the part and don’t forget to give MiddleEasy a subliminal shout-out in the film. [Source]
