If you liked Chael Sonnen vs. Anderson Silva, you’re probably going to see it again this winter

If your cardiovascular system didn’t explode out of your body and run directly into a wall the first time you witnessed what some consider to be the fight of the year, there’s a good chance that you will see it again and possibly before the end of the year.

Lance Pugmire from the LA Times stated the UFC will stage an Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen rematch which will be targeted on New Years Eve or a day before the Superbowl. All of this, however, is dependent on Anderson Silva’s recovery from his rib injury prior to UFC 117.

Just hours ago on ESPN Sportscenter, Dana White confirmed the UFC is targeting a Chael Sonnen vs. Anderson Silva rematch so maybe Lance Pugmire is on to something. Granted, the LA Times was the same news source who said that Fedor Emelianenko was signed to the UFC around this time last year, so perhaps you want to take that report with a grain of salt. In Italian, that same phrase is avere sale in zucca which literally means ‘to have salt in your pumpkin’. In Latin, it’s cum grano salis (props to Buzz Killington for being one of the few people left on this earth that understands Latin).
